When selecting agitators, the most suitable type will be selected according to the density, viscosity and shear sensitivity of materials. When mixing high viscosity materials, most of them will choose frame type agitators.Why?

The mixing of materials is completed in the reaction kettle. The effective mixing space of turbine type agitator, paddle type agitator and impeller type agitator is small, and the mixing effect for high viscosity materials is poor. The frame type agitator is almost full volume mixing, so it is suitable for mixing high viscosity materials. The frame type agitator is also used for heat transfer and crystallization, generally with large diameter and relatively strong, The required power is also relatively large.

The rotating speed of the frame type agitator is not high. The maximum rotating speed in the small reaction kettle is about 85rpm, and the larger reactor is generally below 85rpm. The diameter of the frame type agitator is larger. If the rotating speed is too fast, the stirring torque is too large, which will cause damage. The rotating speed of impeller type and paddle type agitators is faster than that of frame type and anchor type agitators. Because the impeller type and paddle type agitators are less stressed, the torque of impeller type and paddle type agitators is smaller at the same speed, and the rotating speed is generally about 130 rpm.

The selection of agitators depends on the process requirements and the properties of materials (state, viscosity, etc.), there are many types of agitators, and the mixing processes corresponding to different forms are also different. Because of its large diameter and wide mixing range, frame agitator can produce good mixing effect for high viscosity materials.
